At a time when thousands of leaf peepers visit our state, JFES students were able to step out of the multipurpose room doors and venture out through the Andorra Forest and up Pitcher Mountain! On October 11, JFES students, staff, and family volunteers spent their Early Release day enjoying the annual fall, all-school hike. Before setting out, we gathered to review expectations and to talk about why these events are important to our school community. Some of the reasons students gave were to learn new things and in a different way, to challenge ourselves physically, to enjoy nature, to have a common experience as a whole school, and so that everyone—but especially our new students—can stand on top of a mountain. Thank you to all the volunteers that were able to join us. It was a gorgeous day for an all-school hike!
