Jake Morrill, New Principal, HCS
HENNIKER, NH - March 6, 2025 - The Henniker School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Jacob Morrill, M.Ed., C.A.G.S., as the new principal of Henniker Community School, effective July 1.
Mr. Morrill brings extensive educational leadership experience to the role, having most recently served as Assistant Principal at Hopkinton Middle High School since 2022. His background includes significant administrative experience leading schools at elementary, middle, and high school levels.
"We are thrilled to welcome Jake Morrill back to the SAU 24 community," said Dr. Jacqueline Coe, Superintendent. "His student-centered approach and proven track record of collaborative leadership align perfectly with our values and vision."
At Hopkinton, Morrill led district-wide initiatives including the development of the Portrait of a Hopkinton Learner, a collaborative process that engaged over 600 community members. He also supported competency-based learning practices and redesigned student support systems to better meet diverse student needs.
Previously, Morrill served as Dean of Teaching & Learning at Weare Middle and Center Woods Upper Elementary Schools, where he supported teachers and developed student-centered behavior intervention systems. His fifteen-year career in education also includes experience as a Teacher Leader at John Stark Regional High School.
Morrill holds a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Educational Leadership from Southern New Hampshire University, a Master of Education from Plymouth State University and The Upper Valley Educator Institute, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech.
"I am excited and honored to join Henniker Community School to support students and staff and continue the great work happening in the school,” Morrill said. “During the interview process, I was impressed by the positivity and commitment of staff, students and community. I am looking forward to returning to SAU 24 to be a part of the team of great educators."
Morrill's expertise includes student-centered approaches, collaborative leadership, development of student and teacher leadership, family and community collaboration, and implementation of universal design for learning principles.
The Henniker School Board approved Morrill's appointment on March 5 following a comprehensive search process that included input from staff, parents, and community members.
